Music Ministry - Praise Team
Our Music Ministry is led by Jeff Freeman with a wide variety of praise & worship
and includes the older foundtional hymns as well.

"Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee. O let the nations be glad and sing for joy: for thou shalt judge the people righteously, and govern the nations upon earth. Selah. Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee. Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God shall bless us. God shall bless us; and all the ends of the earth shall fear him." Psalm 67:3-7

"Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee. O let the nations
be glad and sing for joy!"

That is the vision of our music ministry. Putting our eyes on the Lord and believing upon Him is the goal of the songs we sing. Praise to God is intentional, it is deliberate, and we must first have our minds set on Him before true praise can come forth from our hearts. The music plays a key role in captivating our attention away from the things of the world and all the problems that go along with it, and allows us to be free to worship, free to sing, free even to dance! The Bible tells us that when we praise, the enemies of God have to be still. Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength (praise) because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger, Psalm 8:2. When the enemy is taken out of thoughts and replaced with an attitude of worship and praise, we can then focus on the Word of God as it is preached. Our adversaries are made still.

"For thou shalt judge the people righteously, and govern the nations upon earth."
That is the inspiration of our music ministry. God will be the judge of what we do, and God will disciple us, and God will rule over us. I never want to sing songs just for the sake of singing, or for the sake of tradition. If, because of tradition, we can't have the freedom to try new things that are also glorifying to God, we then grieve the Holy Spirit of God. If we allow God to rule and reign instead of tradition or people, we should all be able to sing for joy.

"Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee. Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God shall bless us."
That is the motivation of our music ministry. Praise to God, not for ourselves but for the increase of God's kingdom. That is what motivates me to strive to always improve, to always be taking our praise to the next level. How many lives could be saved if our praise to God was believable rather than artificial? If we can learn to praise God at all times, then when we come together as a congregation to sing praises, it will be more familiar to us and less like a performance. That is when our praise becomes the fruit of our lips and an offering to our Lord to be used according to his purpose.

"God shall bless us; and all the ends of the earth shall fear him."
That is the devotionof our music ministry. To fear the Lord at all times, to give honor to Him, and reverence. Never to be offensive in worship, singing His praise to the ends of the earth.
